Ascension Body Modification was opened in Abq. NM on Jan 1st, 2010 by Steve Truitt.
Nestled in the Nob Hill district, right across from UNM; We are a unique tattoo and piercing shop offering the widest range of body art & modifications in the state. Piercers Steve Truitt and Fancy Phil are proud members of the Association of Professional Piercers and have a combined 50 years experience between them. Tattoo Artist Cooper has over 20 years professional experience and is very knowledgeable in his craft. His distinct & unique style is best described as “neon-techno” due to his bright color combinations.
While artist Paul Anthony specializes in Neo-traditional black and grey, combining traditional techniques with a modern aesthetic to create a design that is both delicate and bold.
*We are happy to announce that Caro Montoya is coming all the way from Colombia and will officially be joining the team! With skills ranging from bright, realistic color to intricate, fine line designs, she is sure to create something beautiful for you.

General Information
We offer the best body jewelry in the world and have one of the largest selections in the state. We carry jewelry from: Anatometal, Neometal, Intrinsic, Industrial Strength, BVLA, Tawapa, Maya, Evolve, Safe Products, Glasswear Studios, Little Seven, Diablo Organics, and more! We also carry the Sullen, Black Craft Cult, and Beardly and the Black Sheep clothing lines and the H2Ocean aftercare line in the studio.
All of our artists have many years of experience and carry current Blood Borne Pathogens, CPR, and First Aid training and are licensed by the State of NM and the City of Albuquerque.
We use the most current sterilization techniques and procedures. We are fully disposable for tattoos, all needles and tubes are new, single use, pre sterilized, and disposed of after use. All jewelry and equipment used in piercing is sterilized immediately before use in the Statim autoclave and taken out of it in front of you. All of our autoclaves are spore tested to make sure they are working properly on weekly basis.
We take every step we can to ensure you are safe and comfortable during your visit to our studio. Everyone is welcome here.

We are located on Central, just East of University on the South-East corner of Central and Terrace (next to LA Underground). We have a huge parking lot available for our clients, entry is just before the Palenoque restaurant.
Mon-Thurs: 11am-7pm
Fri-Sat: 11am-8pm
Sun: Noon-7pm
Tattoos are generally by appointment only, but we will accommodate walk-ins when possible.
Piercing walk-ins are always welcome, however, scheduled appointments will take priority. Weekends book up early, so it’s best to make appointments on those days.
If you are booking for multiple people, each person needs their own appointment, please do not piggy-back your friends on to your scheduled time. If you are booking a piercing for a minor, please read the policy below!

MINOR POLICY: MUST READ!
All minors must have a picture ID and Original Birth Certificate.
A Parent/Guardian must be present with their ID and Legal Guardians must have minor’s guardianship paperwork.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
Acceptable forms of ID include: A valid State-Issued ID, a Current Driver’s License or Permit, a Current Temporary ID/Driver’s License, a Passport or a Current IN HAND School Photo ID. Unfortunately we cannot accept a digital student ID.
Ages and Services Available:
We do not pierce anyone under the age of 5 years.
5 years+: Earlobes Only (Must have original birth certificate & parent/guardian ID).
13 years+: Lobes & Outer Cartilage.
15 years+: Ears, Face, Navel.
17 years+: Piercing- Bridge, Industrial/Orbital, Microdermals. *Tattoo- Design/Location/Artist Dependent.
You Must be 18 years+: Tooth Gems, Surface Piercings, Nipple, Genital.
CANCELLATION FEE:
Booking an appointment does require a credit card to reserve your time slot but you will not be charged. The card will only be charged if you No Call/ No Show or Show up with out the proper paperwork. Showing up late for your appointment can result in a cancellation fee.

For the health and safety of our work, we do not use outside jewelry. If you plan on using jewelry previously purchased from us, please drop your jewelry off in a container or sealed bag 1 hour before your scheduled appointment.
